I visited The National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in Washington a few years ago. It had a great impact on me. I HIGHLY recommend it. Since then, I fly the flag in my back yard at half mast every year on May 15th. It's required by law for all federal buildings. I do it as a sign of respect. That's something I would never have done (long story about my youth) until I saw the Memorial.
