I have the black $20 same design ...

... well, 65 of them, actually. Bought a box from Steve Goodrich awhile back and have been trading/giving them away. Steve attributed them to Palace Poker in Galveston, TX (I think based on TGT entry:

"Palace Poker, 201 Ave. E, Galveston, TX, USA
Mold: DIASQR, Opened 1940's, Closed 1957"

Ed Hertel now lists as Galveston on his website, I think based on the same information, as he is one of the people I gave one of these chips.

The design of the $5 chip on eBay is identical to the $20's I have (except, of course, for denomination and color). The seller appears to live in Montana and his information sounds authentic, primarily because of the details.

Be interesting to see if Bud has anything interesting in the diasqr records.
