The buy-in chips aren't considered taxable income. Makes sense to me, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some politician wanting to tax them too. The State of Colorado retaxes refunds from previous year's tax return, claiming the refund of overpaid taxes is income. They forgot whose money it was in the first place.....
