Hi Jim,
I fully understand the collector mentality. It looks cool, I paid SOMETHING for it to use it, so I should be able to take it with me.
I see roulette chips as needed props to run the game. The chips are necessary to play, but, without having an expressed denomination on them, they can only be used at that particular table. Should there be signs telling you not to take them? Only if there should be signs telling you not to take dice from a craps table, or cards from a blackjack table. These too are props needed to run those games. They are meant for use in that game, and are produced only for that use. The only real difference I see about these examples of necessary game props is, roulette chips aren't available in the gift shop with holes drilled through them. .....if they were, I'd buy 'em!
The "nobody told me I couldn't shave the kitty, so I did" excuse for doing something you know is wrong doesn't wash with me.<G>
My roulette lessons are free, my stradegy has worked for me at every betting level and can be easily modified to suit your tastes (ask Mel).
.....when is the signup for the club poker tourney?!?
Bob
