Preakness Stakes Chip Pool ...

... for the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown series (to be run on Saturday, May 20):

Unless someone has suggested modifications, I plan to use the same rules as we had for the Kentucky Derby pool, except:

As an ADDITIONAL TIE BREAKER if payoff & predicted winning times are identical (good grief!), total places of all three selected horses.

Closest pick to actual winning time and worst performance will each win one chip. Worst performance will be the entry with no horses in the money and the worst total places of the three selected horses. This time, however, these two chips will come from among the entry chips and the remaining entry chips will be divided as otherwise specified in the rules.

If anyone has other suggestions for rules changes, please let me know and I will consider them.

I will post the complete list of entries/odds, estimated post time, etc., in a few days and reminders as we near race day. I have provided below a link to the Preakness/Maryland Racing website if you care to check on any of this in the meanwhile.

I will be on another trip to Memphis race weekend -- which means I will have no computer access after Thursday evening prior to the race and will not be back until late Monday evening, so please be patient awaiting the results!!

Based on our performance in the Kentucky Derby pool, I also have a few suggestions:

Please remember to include your projected winning time with your entry.
Please remember to designate the chip you are putting at risk.
Please include your MAILING ADDRESS with your entry, so I can simply pass it on to the appropriate persons if you are a WINNER.

Thanks again for playing & Good Luck in the Preakness Pool.
