Leonidas; This is NOT a "coin and chip show" .... and I would not suggest calling it otherwise.
What it is .... is the Annual GSNA (Garden State Numismatic Association) Convention, which is comprised of about 75 to 80 tables of primarily coin dealers.
In conjunction with the GSNA Convention, there is a Token & Medal Show being held at the same time, at the same facility. The name of this companion show is the New Jersey Token & Medal Show, which is a commercial show promoted by Paul Cunningham, of Tecumseh, Michigan. Paul is a CCGTCC member and has had a table at the National CCGTCC convention in Las Vegas virtually every year.
According to Paul Cunningham's news release that I have just received yesterday ... "The NJTMS, in one form or another, has been held in the Philadelphia area continuously for over 30 years; this year's edition will be a popular show which will draw up to 12 collectibles dealers from the immediate area and from surrounding states, and other far-flug locations such as Florida, New York, Illinois,Ohio and Michigan. Among the various areas of collectibles represented are casino gaming chips and memorabilia, tokens and medals, coins and paper Americana of everh type, such as Civil War artifacts, early advertising signs and political items, ephemera, telephone cards; eery imaginable "small" collectible antique. You are urged to bring your duplicaes to trade or sell to our dealers!"
As for location or directions to the show site.... Both events are being held at the Marriott Hotel and Ukrainian Cultural Center, Davidson Ave., Exit 10 of Route 287, in Somerset, NJ. The published hours are 1-7 p.m. on June 1st; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m on June 2nd; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 3rd.
