Just got back from my two week stay in Sacramento with a side trip to Reno.
The sad news of course is reading about Bob's liver cancer, but the good news is that I think any one of us would like to enter a poker game given a 60% chance of winning. If you are reading this, Bob, let me add my best wishes in your speedy recovery.
Without going into any detail, I was out of town and needed help desperately. A call went out to Jim Reilly. In no time, Jim got a hold of me, came to my rescue (no, I wasn't in jail <g>) and solved my problem. Jim, I don't want to embarrass you in front of all our friends, but I think others ought to know and appreciate just what a great group of fellow (oops, and gals) chippers we have on this board. This many of us finds out only in times of need. Thank you Jim.
On the pleasent side, I have some new chips.
The first picture is that of the new rack of the Lake Bowl in Folsom (just a little community outside of Sacramento. Made famous, I suppose, by Johnny Cash)
It took four trips and a lot of talking to get these chips, although I know Bill O'Day and Gil Lovell had no trouble at all. In any case they are for sale or trade based upon my new formula, which is:
Face value plus actual shipping) for chippers who offer me the same deal, or for what ever price other chippers offer theirs chips for. In other words, If you sell your $5.00 chips for $8.00 that I will charge you the same.
The second scan of chips is just a new rack from the Lucky Derby Card Room in Sacramento (actual, I think it's in Citrus Heights.) It is exactly like the chips they presently have, but are in prestine condition.
The third and final scan are chips from Reno. A $2.50 Snapper chip from Fitzgeralds, and Win chip from Boomtown and the Grand Opening chip from the Peppermint.
I have plenty of the first two, but I only have a few from the Peppermint. I was told by a few people in the know that the morning shift at the Peppermint was more relaxed about issusing chips then the afternnon shift which is when I went to get mine.
Be sure to scroll all the way down.
