Hey Peter,

I use a HP ScanJet IIcx scanner. My settings are as follows:

100 dpi (also 360 dpi for printing the images)
100%
Millions of colors (also known as True Color)

The images I scan are 169 x 169 pixels (which at 100 dpi is 1.69" x 1.69")

I then save the image in a jpg format with a quality factor of 80%, as anything less will make a smaller file - yet the image quality suffers.
