Re: Roulette chips in danger, please help

Good morning Archie,

We are on the same side. Although just like I said I don't collect roulette chips at all I collect only the $1 chips because there are plenty of them in every casino that if I buy 2 $1 chips nobody would miss them and I don't have to compete with the othr members and the general public.

I am for you Archie, I collect chip for their cultural values not the fun pure and simple. Through the chip design I can see the history, the cultural traits of the people, and the logic of the design. There are so many things you can 'read' and 'learn' from a single chip. From the manufacturer's point of view as a businessman, to the final design that goes into the tables, there is a long processes of decision making that goes into the chip. The $1.00 I pay for the chips is a real bargain to me because of so many factors it carries. Even the materials used I think of them. I wrote one time to Katie Smith who everybody knows is a chemistry professor that she should study the chemistry of the chips. What are their chemical components? Are there patterns in the material use from one region compared to the others like Las Vegas, Atlantic City or California? The history of the material used from the early 18th century or maybe earlier to the present state?

Now that we are here talking about history maybe the manufacturers should come out with different magazine articles on how they are? - the chip R&D stage so to speak up to the final stage of manufacturing. These information will be very valuable for history and the public.

Speaking of historical preservation is no doubt a very noble cause. I am for it and I am with you. I think the casinos should work with us on this part of history making instead of just installing these multi-million computers to catch walk away buyers. For instance every chip they put out must have a duplicate for the club members to buy. These chips will have a 'security code' that when they go back to the table it will alert the table personnel. The casinos will have to watch only the real cheaters and relax on the club members - put you out of 'trouble'.

Talk to you later, Archie have a good day.
