Far too many collectors (in my opinion) consider the taking of roulette chips as some sort of game, challenge, or right.

I don't have any of the $5 Paris roulette jetons. I pocketed 5 the first weekend I played the table last year, sold them at face value to Don Anthony. I've ended up with one or two since then on subsequent visits (odd numbered cashouts) and of those sold a grand total of three more, but have respected the casino's desire to keep as many left as possible on the table, cashing in all of the rest.

The casinos make plenty of chips just for us (too many in some people's eyes). Roulette chips are meant to remain on the table. Ask Mel how just a few missing chips from a game can cause the casino to rerack. Ask casino management what happens to a waitress when you try to have her sell you the roulette chips she receives as tips (grounds for dismissal in some, if not all, casinos).

I am serious, because the casinos are serious.
