I remember that story from junior high school (around 1984). The Michael Jordan part is new though. The version I always hear is that it was Eddie Murphy and his bodyguards and they paid for her room.

My father-in-law told me this exact story a month ago, but it happened to a friend's mother. Either Eddie Murphy is making alot of people "hit the floor" or this story is being recycled.
