My question is how does everyone feel about sniping on E-Bay auctions.
My thought is that it is fair game on E-bay.
Yes, there are some services and software around that will automatically bid for you in the last seconds, and I don't use them.
I've never sold on E-bay myself but I have asked E-bay quite a long time ago if they were going to change their software to extend the auctions for an extra 3 to 5 minutes if a bid was receive in the last few minutes of their auctions. They told me no.
This situation makes it difficult for the sellers to receive their absolute maximum on the auctions if someone else would have bid more.
I now have started bidding my Maximum Bid at the last seconds of an auction. If my bid isn't high enough I LOOSE. So be it.
I just can't see creating the bidding frenzy myself by placing my highest bid days in advance only to be outbid at the last few minutes of the auction.
My MAJOR problem is, if I see an item I want and I can't be near the computer, I loose out on it. Oh, well too bad for me...
I've saved a some money for another item.
Acutally, I don't consider myself a true snipe since I have no idea what the current bidders highest bid is, and they will win the item if my maximum isn't higher than their's, and I am only bidding ONCE on the item.
