>> Hello ----- FYI the chips in this auction are misdescribed
in that all 1000 chips of each design are numbered "1 of
1000". That does not indicate that the chip is #1; just
that it is one of the 1000 chips made. They are all the
same.

It has been my experience that most sellers will correct mistakes when they are brought to their attention. This seller has considerable eBay experience, but checking as far back as his feedbacks can go, no other chip lots (mostly toys and games). I'm inclined to agree with JB on this one; I don't think the seller knew the true story on the numbering of the chips. It IS somewhat misleading when they are numbered in this way ("1 of 1000"); I'd rather see them say "Limited to 1000" or something to that effect.
Two of the three top bidders are real eBay newbies (top bidder's feedback is zero; third bidder is a "2"). The 2nd bidder is a 43, with all of his traceable feedbacks for chips or tokens (mostly Hard Rock stuff, but some others, too). It looks like none of them knew the real story, here.
Be interesting to see how the seller responds, since the auction is completed.
BTW, I didn't write to them until after I saw this thread; didn't pick up on this lot myself, since I had no reason to look at it. While I understand Rich Hanover's frustration, I refuse to be beaten into submission on this stuff and still write frequently when I see false or misleading chip descriptions. Most result in "thank you" from both sellers and bidders and don't warrant posting here. One of these days, I'll probably get in trouble with eBay. Oh, well!
