I'm glad that most of you pretty much agree....and that I didn't
step on any toes...
My chip run last weekend really illustrated to me the hassles of
selling chips....I was at a disadvantage compared to some of the
chip dealers in that I couldn't buy most chips at the cage. Ralph
has expressed the same frustation....If I was to start up a chip
service, I would have to buy in (and of course gamble a little..tee
hee...) first...that would add to my time and to my price. Could I
justifiably charge a higher price for those chips?? I could, but it
is not the buyers fault that I don't have the right connections...
As most of you know, I live in Sacramento...about 2 hours from Reno
or Tahoe....do I get all my own chips from those areas??? NO. I have
bought from Larry a couple times....it may seem stupid to some, but
like most of you have pointed out...the gas, the time, blah, blah...
adds up! I have no problem paying over face value for a chip that is
pretty close to home....in all actuallity, I get it a lot cheaper than
if I had gone and done it myself!
So, I just wanted to thank all of you chip dealers for the service
you provide...haven't bought from all of you...but I probably will
at some time! Thanks for the trouble...thanks for putting up with
us whinning about prices...thanks for the good packing jobs....and,
thanks for putting up with all the misc. crap you do just so we lazy
collectors can have chips!!!
