I think the issue is with Photoshop for the Mac. I just turned off the image preview and thumbnail from the preferences. I'm not sure which one allowed it to work. I found the solution on Adobe's website burried away. The thumbnail allows it to be saved in both Mac and Wintel enviroment.

Actually what I did was to use a third party application and blow away all the preview resources. Allowed me to do that quite fast.

I'm still an evangelist for the Mac platform especially when some computer users can't find the "ANY KEY" when asked to press any key.
