Seller strongly claims it is the Friars Club - Los Angeles - 1944 - owned in part by Bugsy Seigal.
I am not even sure if is an F. It is not real close to an F, on the 2 examples of old English alphabets I have.

BTW, the obverse has no hot stamp.
