While some casinos can drive us crazy trying to collect their chips, actions taken by dealers can compound the problem. Apparently Trop employees who had the chips in question changed their minds about selling them after finding out the chip was on eBay for a $50 minimum bid, offered by someone respected in the chipping community.
I'm used to 5 chip limits here in Colorado, have stood in line for 2 chip limits here in Colorado, have been sold 1 chip limit at the cage chips in Nevada, and have been told I can't buy any chips-I have to win them-in both Colorado and Nevada. Archie compounded (in my opinion) the problem at the Trop AC, and I don't see that he realizes it. If he can't learn from this mistake on his part, you can expect to see more blunders of this type. It certainly isn't good for the hobby, and may well guarantee that nobody west of Philly collects AC chips in the future.
