I scan at 150 dpi, Daryl. This makes a nice resolution for printing out chips full size on an inkjet printer. It also turn out that it makes about a double size image when you display it on a screen (150/72 is about a ratio of 2). One size scan works for both applications.
If you are using a graphics program like Adobe Photodeluxe, of course, you can process whatever kind of image you scan to be the right size.
