Jim,
You wrote "As I said in response to Bob Orme, use of a scan to sell the scanned chip would be within the "fair use" exception to the copyright infringement rules." If that is the case then that is all I'm doing! Once I am out of a cetain chip that I have for sale then it comes off my Web site. I never have had a scan of a chip on my Web site that was NOT for sale.
You also said "If you were to go to court for the purpose of getting someone to stop stealing your scans"......I'm not a Lawyer, but, I know going to Court would be a waste of time. That will not stop me from letting people on this Board & elsewhere know that my scans along with others ARE being stolen & let those people judge for themselves if they want to do business with a person that steals scans.
You can try & lump BENNIE MANCINO in with myself, Pete, Josh & others, but, that just won't wash Jim. Our scanning chips ourselves that we get from the Casinos & HIS stealing our scans because he is too lazy to do it himself is not even close. You can say otherwise until your blue in the face & you'll NEVER convince me otherwise. As you said "Is the law which puts companies in this position stupid? Looks that way to me." I agree it is stupid.
Lastly you said "But, we should do so with a clear understanding that FROM A LEGAL POINT OF VIEW, what Bennie is doing may be no worse than what others are doing in using copyrighted material without permission." Your a Lawyer & I consider you a friend, but, I could not disagree MORE. What BENNIE MANCINO is doing is FAR worse & I don't care about the LEGAL POINT OF VIEW when it comes to this! Andy - Las Vegas
