I want to comment on a small side issue here that is important to me and must affect a lot of people.

On the MAIN issue, I suppose it is wrong to "steal" someone's auction scan and then use it in your own auction.

On the SIDE issue that I want to comment on: I think it is unreasonable for someone who wants to auction, say on eBay, or sell, say on his web site sales list, a number of the same chip ONE AT A TIME to make a separate scan for each sale. I wouldn't make separate scans, and I don't think many others would.

For example, say I have 30 of a certain chip. Let us say half are in very fine condition; the other half are in various degrees of worse condition. I think it is perfectly proper to use the same very-fine-condition scan for the 15 chips that are in that condition -- both for auctions and sales lists. (Maybe one should not use a scan of the edge spots in perfect position.)
