Well, here goes nothing. On my trip to Vegas this past week, my wife and I stayed at the Luxor and I went through 800 chips. The cashier was nice enough to sell me 8 racks of the $1.00 chips. After going through all of the chips here is what I found:

In the matt finish (which were the original chips issued)

Luxor / Circus Circus

Tut / Plain

Tut / Egypt

Blank / Blank

Blank / Egypt

Nile / Pyramid

In the satin finish (which look "new")

Luxor / Luxor

Circus Circus / Circus Circus

Tut / Tut

Nile / Nile

Pyramid / Pyramid

Egypt / Egypt

Circus Circus / Pyramid

I checked the one chip I had before and it was the Luxor / Luxor in the matt finish.

I didn't even notice the different types of finishes until I got home. I assume that the satin ones will also be in the matt finish. I went for the better quality of chips. ie. new ones.

One that eluded me from a previous post is the Nile / Luxor. Now we know that there are at least 15 different varities.

When will this ever end ??????
