Here's a technique that will speed up your reading of messages on this board, Mel. This assumes you are going to read all the posts, as I think most do.

Go to the 'Set Preferences' screen from the Index page and select the option "Chronological, Reversed". When you return to the index, you will now see all the new messages listed with the most recent first. Go down the list to the last one you read on your last session and click on it. When finished, just click on "Next Message" and you will see the next one displayed without having to go back to the index. Continue in this manner till you've read the most recent message, at which point there won't be any "Next Message" to click on.

Should be particularly useful to those with slow connections.
