I've never seen a cruise ship chip with an expiration date on it before. Only chips I know of with 'good until...' markings are those used for promotional purposes, often given to junket players. Caesars Palace, Caesars Tahoe, and MGM Las Vegas all have done this. I too wonder about the purpose of this on a cruise ship chip. True, the inagural year ends then; maybe a way to make the chips more of a 'take it home' souvenir?
