My past two trips have been COMPed rather well. Most recent was Colorado Belle (without reservations on a Friday night). One room was left. We got it for $69.00 for the one night (checked in after 9:00 pm). My wife played .25¢ video poker (max bet) until 5:00 am, while I went out harvesting. At 5:30 am I called to extend room for one more night at a "Casino Rate". A Casino Rate is a special rate for people who are playing in some way shape or form, where the house knows it. I. E., via the slot club membership. The Casino Rate was $38.00 for Saturday night.
When we got up late Saturday morning, we wanted to eat. Her earlier "action" (play) had earned food comps for both of us. After breakfast, she played the same video poker game, I went off for more harvesting. By the time we left Sunday, both nights were COMPed, as were most meals.
The previous visit was Excalibur for New Years (Millennium). We had a 2-night reservation at $130.00 each night. We extended for a third night. My wife lived at the video poker machines, while I harvested. In our first 24-hours she hit several Royal Flushes, all at the Excalibur. At one point she had two, side-by-side Royals. The slot attendant said that in 18 years he had never seen a person have two Royal, at two separate, side-by-side machines. Over the next two days she held her own. We actually had to get a safe deposit box, and only accessed it as we were leaving. This was agreat trip, especially when the COMPed all three nights and ALL meals.
The system is based on what you risk, not what you lose or win. They go strickly by the stats.
Personally, I can't stand video poker (and all other slots), but thank goodness she enjoys them!
