If you are going to be in town 5 or more days, I still feel a cheap rental car is the way to go. Free valet parking everywhere. Complete flexibility on where you go without worrying about cab fares. If you shop, you can get an economy car for a week for around $100 (5-6 cab rides with tips). Try Alamo for the best rates I've found. Be sure to have a discount number from your employer, bank, travel agent, airline, AARP or somewhere. Most times, you get a larger car at the low rate because everyone orders the economy and there are never enough.
