I call them counterfits because that is what they are.
Do I have records, NO.
All of these came out of the Boreland estate. I have another group that also came out of the Boreland estate.
Bud Jones confirms they were made to fool the hobby. I believe if you check the closing dates of the casinos, it will tell you that all but a couple were made after the casino closed.
The Hotel Nevada, Battle Mountain is still open. These are the only ones I find that was made for a casino that was still open. Hotel Nevada has no records of these chips ever being delivered. No one there has ever seen them.
I would love to have the DI $100 that Boreland paid his hookers with. There was some trouble over that one. No, I don't know the whole story, but I bet at least 1 chipper that will read this, does know.
There is no doubt in my mind, they are counterfits and were sold into the hobby as real chips.
