...unfortunately this stagnation pollutes within
when one wants to be left alone without being
selfless.
A perfect example being fresh in everyone's mind:
It's no secrect that I've been shouting for someone
to pinch-hit for me at our club booth at the the Ft.
Lauderdal ANA Convention this weekend. It's no
secret that I've mentioned both here and on the club
bb that I have everything in my possession needed to
outfit the club table. It's no secret that
Vice-President Ken H. has a numismatic table at this
ANA show...and it's no secret that club members have
visited his table yesterday. BUT IT IS A BIG SECRET
that Ken was asked if there was any way he can help
John Benedict in manning the table. IT IS A SECRET
that Ken's response was that he is alone himself at
his table and has no one to relieve him. BUT,
the first thing I believe that would have been in
any soldier's mind was to pick up the flag from a
fallen soldier...by simply saying: "I would be nore
than happy to at least carry the flag (banner),
membership applications, club magazines and
Convention 2000 flyers at the unmanned table. I
would be more than happy to at least display some of
this promotional material." DID NOT HAPPEN. But
one good man who I ran into yesterday (Michael
Richter) asked me if there is anything he can do to
help show our presence as a club, or to fill the
void? At least now some of the flyers, applications
and magazines will be available for some to carry
away.
A lot has to be, John...a lot, but one has to want
to do it and not want to be left alone.
A stagnated pond can be cleansed and made pure
again.
