Personally, I don't like grading systems because I believe that, by and large, I am buying and trading with honest people who would let me know if the chip had problems. That being said, I realize that despite my objection, some kind of grading system is inevitable. My suggestion is the simpler the better and Jim's propsed system is that. I would further suggest that we have a meeting/seminar at the convention to debate a grading system and hear from people who may not have access to the internet and can't participate in these debates. Then at the meeting/seminar, if a consensus can be reached on a system, we have an up or down vote of the full memebership conducted through the magazine. In that magazine issue there is a page explaining the system reached at the convention and a mail in slip with a box for yes and a box for no. By having a grading system for chip, tokens, and silver srikes we can insist that e-bay sellers and other traders use it in their descriptions and, hopefully, ferret out some of the shadier deals. I will go one step further and volunteer to tabulate the results if the group decides to go that route.
Just my thoughts,
Amy
