Interesting story, Dick. I'm sure I COULD go back to the Luxor but
I won't due to principle. My incounters (yep, there was more than one)
with the "suites" wasn't nearly as civil as yours. I'll condense the
story, then you give me your opinion on the matter.....
When I graduted from Fresno State and was accepted into grad. school,
my parents bought me a new car. A very nice car..the 25th anniv. Trans
Am GT. That summer my friend and I went to Vegas for our first of many
annual pilgrimages. Anyway, we went to check out the Luxor. Stopped at
valet parking, gave them the keys. Nancy wanted to take some pictures
in the front of the casino so we made our way there (dodging taxi cabs).
While taking the pictures, we hear screeching tires...we didn't think
much about it becuase we had learned that the taxi drivers there are
pretty fearless...while taking pics, Nancy says, "Gee, that sure looks
like your car Katie." She was right, it was. So we watch to see which
car this guy was going to get in to bring back up to valet (so we would
collar the right punk!) and proceeded to stomp back to valet. That was
where the first fight occurred. I get the manager, I'm mad, I'm using
every profane word I know....the "suites" seem to materialize out of
nowhere! We are then taken into a little room (that had a secret door,
believe it or not) to file an official complaint....if you've ever wondered
where they take people to detain them while the police get there, that's
the place...they have straps on the walls in case you're really unruly...
fortunately, I wasn't stapped to the wall....anyway, we decided to go to
Excalibur and since the car was already parked, we left it there and walked.
Later that night, we come back to get it....a whole new crew is on by now...
I tell them that I want my car keys...they tell me, "Sorry, our insurance
doesn't not allow us to let you retrieve your own car." This is where the
second fight starts. The "suites" re-materialize, put us in a car,
take us to my car, then escorted us off the property.
What made me mad, was that I never received any kind of acknowledgement
from Luxor regarding the incident. I have come to the conclusion that
had Luxor acknowledged the incident, it may be perceived that they were
admitting guilt or something...anyway that's my story about being escorted
off Luxor's property and why I won't go back.
But, now that I know your story Dick, I'll be careful at Belagio...now that
I know they are watching!!!
