Thanks to Glyn Farber, I have more information on this LA chip.

Gene,
Thanks for the scan. I checked the same Dun & Bradstreet La. business
directories as before plus a couple more years before and after. 1923, 24,
26, 27 & 28. Couldn't find Claude E. Jones listed.
I have a 1916 Shreveport phone book and it has a C.E. Jones listed. His
residents is 251 Wall St. He is listed as a car dispatcher for V.S.& P.
Yards (Railroad ??).
Texas St. in old Shreveport is mostly a business district. 323 Texas St. was
a Grocery & Market in 1916. Claude E. Jones must have opened a saloon, bar
or pool hall there at a later date (1926). He must have moved to Texarkana,
Ark in 1938 or opened another place there. Texarkana and Shreveport are
about 60 miles apart.

GEEZ Glen, where did you find a 1916 phone book?
IMO, Mr Jones did not have to move to Tx. It was not unusual for illegal operators to have chips sent to another state. In this case a 60 mile trip.
BTW, this chip is being attributed to Bob's bar in New Orleans by other chippers. At this time I doubt that attributation. BUT, since BOB does not relate to Claude E Jones, someone else had to be involved.
As you can see Mason sold the same chip in Maine in 1953 for a home game.
green and Chocolate are the only two colors that can be positively be attributed to LA.
