I wasn't replying to your note in particular, John. Sincere suggestions should always be welcomed.
What I was replying to were the other posts stating that online sign-ups should be allowed. I disagreed then, I disagree now. Just my opinion though. I'm not on the committee writing the rules.
I don't think that doing sign-ups on the day of the tournament would cause anyone to lose time in the showroom. From what I've witnessed in the past, a lot of members spend show time standing in the halls visiting. Is there that big a difference when standing in line to sign-up?
I can't understand the "us" against "them" mentality evidenced on this bb. It happened last year when the tournament was announced and the online community decided that since it was their idea, they should receive preferential treatment. I sensed that starting again and had to speak up. That attitude bothers me greatly.
Sure wish that everyone cared as much about the Club Business Meeting, the educational forums and other necessary convention "evils" as they do this tournament.
