I know of only three people who put up a big stink
when the club changed the rules regarding reserves:
Robert Eisnstadt, Barry Weintraub, myself...and I
believe Don Anthony (may be wrong here). Prior to
the current rules, I would submit some pretty nice
stuff that realized some pretty nice levels. In
fact, the club would call me asking if I had
additional heavy stuff even though I met my limit as
to the number of lots permitted; I would send the
chips (and I'm sure they asked others, too)....and they performed very well. When the
rules changed (no reserves), my letter to the club explained that
I can no longer take a chance with high-end material
where I know that several people in the bidding room
already had the chip(s), because I was adding on to
their collections. The club's response was: simply
bid on your own lots!!! It's all recorded. They
very well know not to call me anymore. I would have
been paying 20% for listing and buying my own chips.
Not too good in my book.
BTW, the club did have some good reasoning for the
change, but not good enough.
