I told my local postmaster that they could aliviate this problem by putting a US postage stamp (preprinted on the box) and sell them for $3.20 exact price of Priority mail. Then require weighing to pay for additional charges or services. This way the box would be used at the post office first and then could be used inside out later.
She(postmaster) said she would pass the idea on.
Will wait and see what they come up with.
Mailing the boxes to you still doesn't aliviate the problem with the free boxes being turned inside out. It would still be cheaper for the post office to just give them to the patron free over the counter instead of paying for the costs of mailing them to you.
