Why I ask questions is really my business. I never "poke" my nose into your business <g> However, I will share "my business" as a possible buyer of this chip with you and everyone else who reads this board. Yes, it does make a difference to me whether Rene owns the chip or is selling it for someone else.

I ask the question for a number of reasons:

1) If a chip is a consignment chip generally the seller will have a smaller margin of profit. A smaller margin of profit means a possible buyer has a smaller margin in making a counter offer to the price requested. Sometimes a consignor tells an agent to hold firm in an asking price. An issue that does not exsist if one owns the chip.

2) Information reference "who" the chip was purchased from would lead, like you stated to a follow up question. However, it would matter to ME if the chip came from another dealer or an individual who does or does not collect chips.

3) Often chips are put on consignment with someone like Rene because the consignor has had no luck in selling the chip. It is nice to know if such is the case.

4) Sometimes people can and have been used as a front (often without the individuals knowledge) for other dealers and sellers whose reputation may not be the "best". The consignee can answer questions honestly involving the chip that the original consignor could or would not answer if asked. Also if Rene owns the chip I can hold him to a different standard than the standard for an agent.

I could go on and on John but I think you understand where I'm coming from and where I'm headed. I believe I saw this chip at the Arizona Charlies show and wish to establish if it could be the same chip.
