The Chesterfield auction is the most recent example of exactly what I was referring to. Your post doesn't make it clear whether you think this practice is proper or not (you did make it clear that you thought it "hilarious", but as I understand it, you were one of the members of a bidding group -- a group that I wanted to join, but didn't receive my email for several days, so missed out).

As I said in another post in this thread tonight, it does not appear to me that there was shill bidding here, at least not by eBay's rules (reproduced in that post). Some posters obviously disagree, but as I also said, I think it took some intestinal fortitude for David to come to the board with the message he posted, knowing some would react negatively.
