Some of us have found the most efficient way to keep up with the board is to use the "Read Next Msg" feature. When you do that, you see all the posts. There's no opportunity to skip based on what the poster put in the header. With a reasonably fast line (26.4K in my case) that's the fastest way to keep up.

I do admit that when I've been away for a couple of weeks and there are hundreds of messages unread, I pick and choose based on Subject: and Posted by:
