... not because I thought it was a great price, but because the proceeds were for the benefit of the club and I thought I should support this fund-raising effort by Robert. I was pleasantly surprised to receive four with a note from Robert saying that he was lowering the price because of poor sales.

Anyd, don't intend this as a criticism of your decision to pass at $10 each (or buy 10 at $4 each) or the lack of response by others. I just thought Robert's effort on behalf of the club was laudable and that it warranted our support.
