...also feel that no matter what type of auction
(RESERVE or not) is available.... a knowledgeable
bidder who knows the market and is willing and able
to set a limit, will never waste their time. I only
use the reserve option when I need to...which was
about 3-times last year...and thus far once this
year, which resulted in me abandoning the reserve in
the last 39-minutes. The chip had a reserve at
exactly what the authors of "TCR" thought it was
worth ($1500-$1800) <-- this is where knowledge
enters the picture. I decided to sell the chip to
the person who was really interested in it for his
$1100 bid. I also knew the market, knew who had the
chip in their collections...and knew exactly at what
level another example sold for prviously. Why am I
going on to great lengths here? Not to toot my own
horn, but to spread a message that the authors of
the only leading price guide in the world concerning
Nevada chips need to be informed by us when such
transactions take place. They don't pull these
numbers out of the air...they learn them....from US.
