Hunter S. Thompson loves Las Vegas (he might even collect casino chips).

His image (alter-ego Johnny Depp) is also featured on a Hard Rock Casino $5 chip in honor of the release of the movie "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".. Unfortunately, after the chip was shipped, Gaming decided that Hunter's "image" did not reflect well on the fine state of Nevada - and reportedly all chips had to be destroyed. (At least that's how I've heard the story)

Others on this board will know the details on the chip and its destruction.

BUT, there is one on display in the Tropicana Hall of Fame.
