I think there is enough expression that the mother wanted her son here in the United States, and it's quite obvious in these situations when trying to reach freedom that death is contemplated by the parent. Though we do not (and we will never know for sure) the fathers's true thoughts...it's quite obvious the mother did not want her son to be subjected to whatever influence the father has been under. We should be thankful she knew when to make her move. There is only one law involved here, Jim, and any court should see it. I only mention what I have because I know the problems of those who have made it to freedom in the last thirty or so years and find it very difficult to communicate with their families in Cuba who have been influenced to think differently. We have a boy who can be saved at this moment. What he decides to do in a few years once he learns what hell he came from, will be his decision...but know it's up to our humane system to make the right decision (emotions are hardly involved other that for safety). Which is also very obvious even though not widely accepted.
