Let's see if I can respond to this post without creating another round of controversy. First of all, let me correct a misimpression I may have left in my previous post. I was not referring to a "committee" of several people, but a Convention Committee Chairman...... which in this case is appointed by the 1999 Convention Chairman Wayne Thompson. Bob; If you are serious about a year round proposal, let me suggest that you present it formally, in writing, to any club officer, who will then distribute your proposal to the rest of the board for consideration. No, this is not a stone-walling action. It has been the policy of this board not to conduct club business on the various public BB's (not to be confused with posting past club history for accuracy). The reasons are simple. 1. Not all club members are on-line. 2. Not all posts are read by everyone who is on -line. 3. Sometimes posts are just someone's opinion, like "I think the club should do such and such", which are sometimes countered by another post like, "I think the club shouldn't do such and such". 4. The official means of communications with the club membership is via the club magazine. 5. In writing, we know who the proposal is coming from, not a nom de plume post on the BB. 6. In writing, it is a document that is now filed.
Look, I'm not looking for additional posts to reply to....., I simply don't have the time to respond to every post that is made on this board about something somebody feels the club is, or is not, doing. I'm spending more time than I should as it is on the board (ask Brenda..... on second thought, no, just leave it alone ), responding to various subject matters that are posted. I do respond (in writing) to all requests, suggestions, proposals, that I receive in writing, usually within 24 hours. This is not debateable, it's a policy that I've adopted that works pretty good. Hope everyone understands my logic. Archie
