That was mostly my point in responding to this thread. I have had bidders who overbid on one chip of a set, and I offered them the set at a reasonable price. It's always a case by case issue, and strictly between the seller and the bidder. I guess I've never had a $5 millennium go for $40 <g>. My point, that I may not have made well, is that as long as the auction is honest and fair, it's not up to others to judge how the seller handles the high bidder. It's up to the seller. How would the second place bidder feel to know he didn't get the chip, and the high bidder got it for less than he was gladly willing to pay. Oh, I know, he'll get 100 second chance offers at his high bid amount. Or maybe not. Thanks for your thoughtful response, Bob.
