Travis, do you know the name of the artist(s) who
made the ivory commemoratives (early-20s?) Dale
shows in the book? The "Texas Belle (IR-GV)" I
purchased was from a man who bought it just after
WWII when he was stationed in the N.O. area. He and his
buddy had bought one each from a street vendor
(mounted in a key chain) for their girlfriends who
were supposed to meet them... for some reason or
other, and they never showed up. My stood-upee who
returned home to Omaha kept his all those years, and
he said his buddy who returned to Hawaii (lost
contact with) bought an exact duplicate. If I were
to bet who would be the person to find this lost
buddy and the dupe....I think I would win the bet.
<g> I did phone him the day I got delivery and he
was truly just as joyful as I was of the find.
