I have told winning bidders that I couldn't accept what I felt was an excessively high bid on a chip, told them to send me less money. In one case, the second highest bidder also exceeded what I thought the chip was worth, offered it to him for the same lowered price as the winning bidder. In that particular case, I ended up with two very happy new (and since then, repeat) customers.

I guess it's up to each seller as to how they handle this type of situation...
