Ralph,

My wife and I have been on 3 Caribbean cruises in the past couple of years on 3 different lines. I'd rate them:

Royal Caribbean - The best by far of the 3
Carnival - Had a nice time, but not nearly as good as Royal Caribbean
Norwegian - A very distant third place in service and accomodations

I hope this helps you make your choice. I'm sure you'll like it more than you expect. I was dragged into the first one much like you, but now I'm hooked.
