I do the same thing. I give the buyer an option on insurance. If they opt to not take insurance and the item is lost, they take or share responsibility. If they pay for insurance, I take responsibility. Do you know how much work it is to pursue an insurance claim with the PO? For a cheap item I have duplicates of, I often send uninsured. The important issue is that, at that point, I'm taking responsibility. I give the buyer the option to save money by taking the responsibility. Is that not fair? Is that not better than the seller who forces the buyer to pay insurance?
