I agree that calling something "rare" when in fact is not rare does a disservice to the hobby. To us veteran collectors, it is water off a duck's back but it can be very misleading to novices.
On the other hand, from a legal standpoint it seems to me that with a few exceptions, the "rare" description is dealer puffing. I've posted a couple of people who were blatently misleading with their misstatements.
