If you went to the trouble to make the dies for the brass and formulate the plastic, would you make only a handful, John <g>. You're probably right, only a few were positively id'd as counterfeit, but you can be sure there were many passed in the casino. Likely this came to light when the count of white chips started coming out to more than were made for the club.
You're right about the casino wanting to keep it quiet. Even our mutual friend is very close-mouthed about it (as he should be since he helped with the investigation). Most of what I'm saying is speculation, but the fact they were counterfeited is known.
