This began as a Paul-Son fantasy chip, Scandia Casino, sold in retail store for 63¢. Many of these were passed at strip properties in about 96-97. They were not passed at the DI.

Many altered chips are $1 chips painted to appear as higher denominatios when in a stack of chips.
