Today, Walt Tarby and I went to Laughlin to see what we could stir up.
Our first stop was Harrah's where we got the new $2.50 "But it'a a dry heat" snapper, and the new $5 millennium chip.
Our next stop was the River Palms only to discover that they haven't put out any new chips since their Grand Opening chip.
Than it was off to the Golden Nugget, where we got the new $5 millennium chip each one numbered limited to 1000.
From there we went next door to the The Pioneer where they have a $5 millennium ltd 1000, and a 3 chip millennium set of $1, $5, and $25 encased in a plastic presentation case ltd 200. (the $5 was different than the loose one they where offering).
Next was the Colorado Bell, where they had a $25 and a $5 millennium chip. ltd 1000 and ltd 2000.
From there to the Edgewater where they had a 3 chip set of $5, $25, and $100. These where available as sets only, no individual chips at a cost of $149.00
needless to say we passed.
We than went across the street to Ramada Express where we got the $5 Christmas 99, $5 International Rally, and $5 Millennium 2000. The interesting thing at the Ramada Express, was a promotion going on where they where having 3 drawings a day for a complete set of the the Back to the 40's casino chips. I talked to the cage manager in an attempt to but a set. She told me she did not have the authority to let one go, and that she thought that it was a shame because she had 200 sets in stock. (Walter says he thought she said 400 sets).
From there over to the Flamingo Hilton where they said nothing new , and also said forget the car series especially the Corvette.
Our last stop was Don Laughlins, Riverside where the lady in the cage said they haven't put out anything new since 1996.
That was our day. What did you do today?
